Parallel World

One day during my time as a retail worker, I realised that the door handle to the storeroom needed to be turned anti-clockwise instead of clockwise. I’d been using it all day without noticing, other than getting a bit of an odd feeling. It may not surprise you when I say that the lock had been changed.
It made me think of science-fiction stories where somebody thinks they have got home safely, but actually they’re somewhere else.
As a footnote, I’ll add that this is my most non-square painting (see methods)— it’s in fact a parallelogram. How mathematically ironic.
